We are a small enough company to be able to monitor every order from the moment we receive it to the moment in reaches you, but we are also large enough to negotiate the best prices around and pass them onto our customers. :: Information we collect about you ::
We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process and deliver your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you except in connection with your current order or query unless you are subscribed to our mailing list. We will not supply any of your details to any third party in the future except for the purposes of debt recovery, unless required by law. The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number, email address, goods ordered and credit/debit card details.
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you notify us of any inaccuracies we will correct the errors promptly. :: Making A Purchase ::
Making a purchase couldn't be easier. Just browse our catalogue and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for the few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order. We try to ensure that all items on the website are in stock although inevitably sometimes we do run out of stock of some items. When we sell out of a product we will either remove it from the website or mark it on the website as "awaiting stock". If in the exceptional circumstance that we take your order for an item, but run out of stock prior to your order being dispatched, we will backorder for you. We will endeavour to email you with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. We accept Visa (now including Visa Electron), Solo, Switch, Meastro and MasterCard via PayPal, Nochex or Fastpay. You may also place an order via phone, fax, Royal Mail.
We trade in sterling (GBP). Any figures shown on the website in other currencies are for guidance only. Check with your card issuer for their rates and fees for international transactions.
:: Tax Charges ::
We are not currently Vat registered.
:: Delivery's
Customers are reminded to check that the details on their invoice are correct i.e. telephone number, address and postcode and should special requirements be requested that this is stated.
Delivery dates are given subject to good being in stock as we are dependent on our suppliers, the actual delivery date to the customer's home will be agreed when the goods are in. No responsibility or liability can be accepted to effect delivery by a specific date and we unable to give specific times of day for delivery, although every effort and endeavour will be made to meet customer's requirements.
Responsibility is accepted for delivery to customer's agreed delivery address only at the time of placing the order.
Damage to customer's property by delivery personnel must be discussed with the delivery agent before they leave. Details of damage incurred must be telephoned immediately and written details sent within 3 days to the service department. Telephone number 01935 411863 should this unlikely event occur.
If the customer is not at home for delivery, no goods can be left without prior arrangement with the customer. All goods must be paid for and signed by an authorised person.
We are unable to remove any old furniture or beds from the property.
Should there be a problem with the goods, delivered, the driver will phone in immediately to get instructions. We have company procedures to resolve the problem.
We cannot accept liability for consequential loss under any circumstances should there be any problem with the making delivery to the customer's home, or with the goods purchased and delivered.
We always try our hardest to ensure that your furniture is delivered in full and in excellent condition. However please inspect your goods fully before signing for them as we cannot be held responsible for transit damage claims, after a clear signature has been received. This does not effect your statutory rights.
:: Additional charges ::
If arrangements have been made for delivery and no one is at the property then a charge of 20% will be made for re-stocking.
If goods are cancelled on instruction from the customer a restocking/administration charge of not less than 25% will be levied.
We allow for a maximum of 8 weeks storage time. When this is exceeded, storage charges will be incurred and 2.5% of the invoice value per month, or part of long extended storage in our warehouse will invalidate the manufacturers guarantee. Goods guarantee from time storage begins.
:: Retention of title ::
All goods supplied by the seller to the customer under the terms of the invoice or contract shall remain the sole and absolute property of the seller, both in law and equity, until the customer has paid to the seller the agreed invoice price.
:: Special sizes ::
Should the size not be made correctly to the measurements then the responsibility will be held with the manufacturer.
:: Shipping And Handling ::
Shipping and handling is currently included within the listed price.
:: Cancelling an Order ::
Under the EC Distance Selling Directive, you have the right to cancel the contract for your purchase within 7 working days of delivery.
:: Returns Policy ::
We offer all our customers a 30-day no quibble money-back guarantee on all our products. All products also carry a minimum of 1 year's warranty against failure and defects under reasonable operating conditions. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are not satisfied with your item, you can return it for exchange / credit. If you wish to return a product, please e-mail us to let us know the item is coming back to us. We will issue a returns authorisation number and instructions on how to complete the return.

:: Complaints Procedure ::
In the unlikely event that you have a complaint concerning an order with The Southern Bed Company, then contact us either by e-mail or by telephone using the details on the contact page. We will acknowledge receipt of your email within 1 working day. A senior manager will personally deal with your complaint and you will be kept informed during all stages of the complaints procedure. Please note that the telephone line is manned from 9.00am to 5.30pm UK time Monday to Friday. Please use email outside these hours to leave a message.
Remittance Terms
All goods remain the property of The Southern Bed Co. until paid for.
